⚡Metal Messiah meets Austrian wit!

A pretty wild encounter: Jazz Gitti, the energetic Austrian icon with heart, humor, and a powerhouse voice, meets 'Area 53 Jesus' (aka Flo’s Metal World on YouTube) – a cult festival character with a divine twist. Water? Pfft! Not with Gitti. When she shouts, “I want wine!”, he simply replies, “So be it!” and turns water into Merlot like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Armed with holy water in a beer can, he’s practically the mascot of Austria’s loudest, hardest, and most heavy-metal festival: the Area 53 Festival in Leoben-Göss!

The newly renovated shelter in 2024 offers all ticket holders brand new indoor showers, WCs, and a spacious 400m² dormitory. Festival ticket holders who don't feel like setting up a tent can unroll their sleeping bags in the shelter and spend the night under the roof there.

It's "Splish Splash" time at the new campsite! You'll find Mur River access, a nail stock game, a wheel of fortune, and a lively "Sauf & Fresshittn (Food & Drink Hut)

⚔️ The Bavarian Village

Area 53 is set to elect a mayor for the first time ever, who will govern The Bavarian Village campsite throughout the festival.

76 bands from near and far applied for the Area 53 Bandcontest. We've selected 6 bands to battle it out on March 15th at Tenne (Area 53 grounds) for 2 slots at the Area 53 Festival 2025 and 1 slot at 2 Days Of Metal 2025 (September 26th-27th, Tenne). First Place: MORITURI

With the motto "Making music and having fun," a thrash metal band from Southwest Styria has captured the hearts of fans and taken first place! We are thrilled to experience them live once again on the stage of the Area 53 Festival!!

Second Place: STORY OF A STRANGER

The Graz-based metalcore band delivered an electrifying performance. Their massive riffs, pounding sound, and fierce vocals had everyone moving. We're confident they'll tear it up at Area 53 Festival 2025 too!

Third Place: XENOCRACY

With their professional performance, the melodic death metal band spontaneously impressed the jury, securing a spot to perform at 'tba'. Further event details will be announced shortly.

The event was evaluated using a combination of audience voting (accounting for 50% with double weighting) and the expert opinions of Oliver Seebacher (organizer of the Area 53 Festival) and Bernd Rieger (Napalm Records and bringticket), each contributing 25%. A huge thank you to all the visitors who rocked Tenne Leoben and celebrated exuberantly! We'll see you again at the Area 53 Festival 2025!
