Utilization of the Mur River

The use of the Mur river and its bank areas is not part of the campsite's commercial offerings. Please note that the use of this public body of water is at your own risk and responsibility. The Mur is officially classified as water quality class 2, which means it has good water quality.

Area 53 Jesus' Pilgrimage to Jazz Gitti

Our annual pilgrimage kicks off on Saturday at 10 AM from the Area 53 Jesus Chapel, heading to the festival grounds. The chapel is located right next to the Schutzhaus, where Austropop legend Jazz Gitti will once again be providing the best early-morning entertainment. The procession will be led by none other than the incarnate Area 53 Jesus, also known as Flo's Metalworld.

Caravan / Camping Rules

To ensure everyone has a relaxed festival experience, please keep the following points in mind!

  • Cleanliness is important: Please keep your pitch clean. The campsite is your home for the duration of the festival.
  • Waste Disposal: Use the designated waste bins. If you need additional trash bags, you can get them at the "Sauf & Fresshittn" (Food & Drink Shack).
  • Tent Pitches: Tents and similar equipment may only be set up in the designated areas.
  • Generator Operation: Generators may be operated between 8:00 AM and 12:00 AM (midnight).
  • Keep Paths Clear: Access roads, emergency routes, and common "desire paths" must remain freely accessible at all times throughout the festival.
  • Fire and Grilling: Open fires, campfires, and grilling directly on the grass are prohibited. Grilling with suitable grilling equipment is, of course, allowed.
  • Quiet Hours: After 12:00 AM (midnight), music is permitted at room volume.
  • Sale of Food and Drinks: The serving of food and drinks on the caravan/campsite is reserved for the organizer. Reselling food and drinks to other visitors is not permitted.
  • Prohibited Substances and Items: Drugs, weapons, and anything that does not comply with Austrian law are strictly forbidden.
  • Allowed is what's fun (and legal): Aside from the prohibitions mentioned, "almost everything" that is legally fun is allowed!
  • First Aid: In case of medical emergencies, you'll find first aid on the festival grounds and at all check-ins.
  • Shower Facilities: Showers are available 24/7 at the "Area Spa" (Schutzhaus).
  • Instructions from the Crew: Please respect and follow the instructions of our Area Crew and Security personnel. Failure to comply may lead to expulsion from the festival – which we all want to avoid!
  • HORNBACH "Area 53 Corner": If something breaks or you've forgotten something, don't panic: HORNBACH has set up its own "Area 53 Corner."
  • Together for an Awesome Festival: As organizers and fans, we know how exuberant things can get late at night. However, we also have to comply with official regulations so that we can all enjoy a relaxed Area 53 Festival together with you.

Special Requirements

We want the AREA53 Festival to be an experience for everyone – loud, wild, and inclusive. That is why we are committed to keeping barriers as low as possible and to creating an atmosphere everyone feels welcome.

Festival Site and Accessibility

The festival grounds are level and the asphalt surface is suitable for wheelchairs. Please note, however, that this is an outdoor location. In bad weather, the grassy areas surrounding the site – especially the campsite – can become muddy.

Wheelchair Area in Front of the Stage

A designated wheelchair area with a clear view of the stage will be provided.

Companions

Effective June 19, 2025, we have implemented the following changes: Individuals whose disability pass indicates "accompanying person required" may bring one accompanying person who does not need an additional ticket. The disability pass with the aforementioned endorsement must be presented on-site.

Parking

If you need parking close to the venue, please speak to the on-site crew. They will direct you to a parking space in the immediate vicinity of the festival grounds.

Accessible Toilets and Sanitary Facilities

There is one accessible toilet on the festival grounds, as well as accessible toilets and showers in the newly built shelter and bathhouse, the Area Spa. These facilities are signposted.
